Role Summary/Purpose: This role is responsible for the clinical strategy and market development for the Women´s Health Ultrasound business by understanding clinical trends/opportunities in the gynecology market, the business needs, developing marketing strategy and identifying unmet clinical needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Gynecology Manager Ultrasound will drive interaction with external research collaborators and partnering with the leaders of the business. You will be the source around product vision, strategy and tactical choices through product development developing clinical market trends in Women’s Health Ultrasound in cooperation with our product managers and Key Opinion Leaders around the globe.
Key responsibilities/essential functions include (but are not limited to):
  • Partner with the leaders of the Women´s Health Ultrasound business (Engineer Department, Product managers, Program Managers and Marketing) and with the Clinical Research Organization, academic institutions, and GE Global Research to direct and manage research for the Women´s Health business, helping GE and academic research collaborators meet mutual objectives.
  • Drive and manage research in concert with external investigators and GEHC Global Research Organization in strategically important areas.
  • Analyze & understand scientific developments related to the Women´s health product line through participation in scientific conferences and congresses, scientific/medical training sessions, and strategic partner meetings.
  • Create product strategic research needs linking with business planning sessions, & utilizing feedback from product development teams.
  • Work with Technology, Marketing, Medical Affairs, & Regulatory Affairs to determine product regulatory claims strategy & the associated research required to execute it.
  • Participate in NPI project team activity to facilitate product releases through clinical & non-clinical evidence generation.
  • Work with internal & external partners to evaluate Investigator Sponsored Research proposals relating to Women´s Health products.
  • Directly manage technology research, and facilitate research execution through handoff of clinical research projects to GCRO while maintaining oversight for research results.
  • Assess research deliverables obtained and ensure transfer of results to end users in the Women´s Health business & regional stakeholders.
  • Track & document results utilization for the Women´s Health business.
  • Develop and evaluate technical and clinical feasibility studies of advanced applications.
  • Provide scientific and clinical support to researchers and GE colleagues as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BS in Engineering, Medical, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or appropriate Science discipline or related area ideally with specialization in gynecology, obstetrics, fertility
  • Knowledge of the Ultrasound Market and/or clinical use of Ultrasound
  • Responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive resolution
  • Team player able to work closely with a global team and open to sharing information and best practices with the team
  • Experience in Medical Device industry with firm understanding of working in a regulated environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel
According to Austrian law job postings need to include the minimum salary for a position. For this position the minimum salary based on the collective agreement is € 3000 gross monthly. Please note that this is the very minimum salary and will most likely be higher. The effective salary is based on the candidate’s Qualification and Experience and will be negotiated accordingly.

  • Advanced degree (PhD) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or appropriate Engineering/Science discipline with specialization in Ultrasound or related field
  • Publications history
  • Significant experience at GE in product management or development, clinical, marketing or related field including workflow experience with similar products.
  • Healthcare product/industry/technical acumen
  • Leadership skills to lead also functional teams and shape/lead growth vision and marketing strategy
  • Innovation – develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas
